Like pretty much most people, I was mortified to see that Channel 5 were releasing a show called ‘Don’t Stop Believing’, blatantly piggy backing on the hugely successful FOX TV series, Glee.
Last night, however, I saw the trailer for this and warmed to it quite a bit, despite some pitchy vocals, a lack of hawt men, and Emma Bunton.
From the look of the clip, my first impression is that I am only really going to like the gospel group.
To give Channel 5 some credit, it’s good to see them broadening their schedules with more diverse programming, and it’ll be interesting to see how it works out for them.
Check back next week and I’m sure I’ll have blogged my impressions of the first show, which airs this Sunday (18th July).

The advert is going to be the only good thing about this programme. It’s a blatant rip of Glee but is denying it completely. Shame.
I don’t think the people in the advert are competing. Not only is it ripping of Glee but it’s stolen the format from BBC’s The Choir a few years ago

Agree that they’ve completely ripped a lot of people off, and I too dislike them a lot for that. However, willing to give it a chance – anything to see something other than constant Nazi and WW2 documentaries on FIVE – heh!
I’d suggest that the people in the advert weren’t polished/professional enough yet to be people who were paid professionals, but I guess we shall find out!
Loving that Anastacia is a judge, but I think it speaks volumes that this programme has its online hub over at MySpace… so it’s already rather tired and dated for it’s audience…. silly Channel 5!
