GLEE play the White House

Today, the cast of Glee appeared on the South Lawn of the White House for the annual Easter Egg roll.

This will no-doubt be unpopular but, despite my absolute love of this show, I thought the performances were rather cringeworthy in places and that some of the cast really let themselves down with their live vocals if I am being completely honest. Great to see them singing live, but I think they need further coaching in this (especially with a few live tour dates coming up!). Bit of a surprise really, as many of them are accomplished in the world of musical theatre… so I’d expect better from them.

The one exception to the above is my favourite Glee kid, Mercedes (played by Amber Riley – watch how she just walks forward at the end of ‘Somebody To Love’ and bam, slams it home!)

Loved seeing Michelle Obama having a little boogie during ‘Sweet Caroline’, and there is of course the moment at 2:58 on the first clip where a million kids must have thought an Easter miracle had happened – Artie stood up! heh.
