Christmas 1992: Embarassing Home Video

You may be surprised to learn dear reader that I have not always been a slightly fey happy-go-lucky kinda chap from Surbiton, oh no… way before that, I was a slightly fey happy-go-lucky kinda chap back home in Manchester!

(presuming those friends here present will of course recognise the mauling I’ve just given to a Beautiful People style quote! heh)

Recently, I set about on a mission to try to find some old pictures and videos of me as a child, and managed to unearth two home videos lurking in my grandparent’s video collection.

The clip below is from 1992, as you can see, and although I remember its contents well, I never remembered being so Mancunian! Yes, you may giggle a lot at it (certainly I am!), but it also makes me rather proud and homesick too heh.

I would like to say that I have outgrown dancing around with bits of tinsel, fighting my way for the best place on the dance floor, but as my friends will no-doubt tell you, nothing has really changed! 😉

There’s another video and a few pictures that I may post – if anyone’s interested in me posting more (and adding to the embarrassment factor!), do let me know!

  1. Ha, ha, this is funny. I just posted a video similar to this on my blog. I am a little older than you, so it was my 16th birthday party from 1992. Only I used iMovie, and set it to Lady Gaga music.

Nice blog. It must be nice living in London.
