Forgetting all about that contrived (but still rather cool) dance piece at Liverpool Street the other month… something genuinely spontaneous happened on my rail replacement bus home last night.
The driver was playing some pretty good songs over the speaker system (Pretty Woman, Brown Eyed Girl, a couple of Elvis tracks, some 80s air-grabbing power ballads) on the way home, and it prompted the whole coach-load of around 50 people to have one big almighty sing-a-long!
Rather fabulous to be charging down the A3 with so many (sober!) people doing the ‘Holding Out For A Hero’ ‘ooooh’ and ‘ahhh’’s at the top of their voices!
Only other time I’ve seen something as spontaneous as this was years ago when they played ‘Madness – House of Fun’ in HMV and quite a few people inadvertently started with the staggered dancing.
Does this kind of thing happen to anyone else?
