Hacking/Cracking isn’t really all that ethical… but sometimes, in circumstances like this, it can be condoned :oP
I should also add that this is nothing whatsoever to do with me, I am meerly a spectator observing and reporting on what I’ve seen online.
** NB – It now would seem that this message has come from the website owners themselves… if this is the case, then frankly I would find it to be pathetic and childish – but then again, what do I care for the future of their site, I’m not even a member any more – hurrah :oD **

Hey, faceparty wasn’t hacked. The admin done that message. They host the servers in house. If someone hacked it, would be simple to put it back up within 30 minutes! See [false website – removed by admin] for more commentary.

Your thoughts are interesting, however no website would ever post a message up like that – especially not Faceparty. And yes, you can time hacks to destroy themselves at a certain time. The message only went up at 5:15pm, which is probably after most folk would have left the office.
Sorry, but if you read the text it says ‘this site is our hobby’ – Faceparty is a business and not a hobby – therefore the message on the front-page was clearly not genuine. If it was a hobby, would you pay thousands for it and then get rid of everyone?!
Unless, that is, you’re suggesting that Faceparty has been taken over by a petulant 13 year old child…?

What! This is exactly the type of thing that Faceparty does. Of course they have not been hacked, they are just being the ‘Pete Doherty of the web world’.
Shift your mindset and you will understand that fp does things differently and that’s why we love ’em.

As somebody who was one of the first people on Faceparty, and at one stage had one of the most popular profiles on the site; I would think that I understand how Faceparty, as a brand, works.
Maybe this is how ‘new Faceparty’ works; however if that’s the case, then I’m not surprised that things have gone down the pan for them as much as they have.
Ultimately the site became, and seemingly still is, a site for blatantly underage kids pretending to be older than they are – and they’ve not really solved the problem of paedophilia that they managed to create and encourage (and yes, they did do that). There’s nothing to stop folk of that sick persuasion from re-joining under a new profile and continuing to groom kids. It’s a deplorable situation and, if the posting and wording of that message online is taken to demonstrate the intellectual capacity of the new site owners, then frankly a lot of people are gonna be fucked when things start to go wrong again.
I give it a year before it collapses completely, the sooner the better in my opinion.

To further the non-been-hacked claim:
The admin has posted a topic today, no news on being hacked (“sorry guys we have been hacked…” but nothing like that) …
A lot of people reported the website worked after midnight, coincidence? No.. a script…
Faceparty claims a lot, as members are underage a big majority dont have the capacity to understand they have been screwed and lied to. It says “Anarchy Towers Ltd” on the bottom of every page ffs… They are more commercial (even though not successful) than the big 3!

I logged in today to be confronted by “God Save the Queen Anthem” and a mock up of the queen with a bag over her head and she is swearing and going. Then a map of great Britain made up of cocks appears. At the top of the screen it said Happy christmas Pedo and then they send me an email with a present that says “open”. Inside is a baby and it has a knife and fork against it! Now i’m not a prude but I think this is a disgrace and no wonder youngsters have no respect for anyone or anything. I’m 29 and wonder if they were trying out oust me out of the site for being over a certain age. I basically went onto the chat room to ask how to get my profile removed and after a few people told me to get a life I had my profile automatically removed!! The hosts dont give a shit and are just encouraging a nation of young people who dont give a shit and have no respect etc!! I would like to know if there is anywhere we can report faceparty as surely something this disgusting and degrading should be regulated??

Alas, there’s not much that can be done unfortunately – censorship concerns and the like mean that there’s little independant online regulation. Best thing to do is probably just to try and let your faceparty friends know that you’re not going to be around anymore and stop bothering with the site; provided that they weren’t deleted too of course!
In my opinion, the less involvement you have with the site the better as I reckon that when it goes to pot, it’s gonna take a lot of current members down with it and cause a lot of chaos…
Incidentally you can’t even complain to their website hosts as they host their website on a series of dedicated servers. You could try complaining to your/their ISP, though unlikely anything would come of it unfortunately.
I like to think that if the last owners couldn’t generate enough revenue to keep it profitable, despite all the media deals and the like, these new clowns have no chance – I give it a year tops before the site is disbanded.

well i have to agree the site deleted my acount which i have had since 2004 and had paid anual subscription for cool tools and no reason given and never a grumble either about this was just deleted with no reason and i tried to no avail to regain my recent subscription fee but got no where total disgrace

I was also deleted recently and was subject to some serious blackmail by admin.
Basics is i did a website about faceparty which they were not very pleased about, and they basically said delete the webpage or we will make up alot of lies about you to all members on gossip so you wont be welcome anymore.
I kept the webpage up and they went through with there threat but deleted me to stop me defending myself, very fucked up indeed so i would love to see the site get hacked for real lol

That really doesn’t sound good at all… I would perhaps look at some kind of legal action if they have defamed you through mass media in any way…. as they’re a UK based organisation (and I use the term through gritted teeth!) and, I am presuming, you’re based in the UK, English civil law would probably apply to a situation like this. Ultimately everyone is free to have and express an opinion, however slander, lies and persecution would be something completely different! Good luck with how ever you decide to react to that!

Are all over 30+ & there still around.
FP deleted people for many reasons, from having more than one FP Profile, Cam Whores, Fakers, Dodge People, People without any Face Pictures or Photos, Moaners, Cry Babies.
Its not your right or my right to have FREE FACEPARTY.COM PROFILE & If you paid for Cool Tools or AVS & You got deleted you were able to claim back your money for Cool Tools.

I’ve permitted this comment in the interest of free speech and so that we can all see why we’re glad that we no longer access Faceparty now that it’s populated by people such as this… I don’t see how having one of the most popular profiles on Facebook ever made me a “moaner” or a “cry-baby” to be honest – and I don’t think the same would be true of any of the other people that have taken the time to read and respond this blog post (incidentally, this is a post that has had phenominal interest in terms of stats).
What with all the problems, changes and whatnot, frankly I remain glad that I am no longer a member of the website/in any way attached to it.
It also seems that Scott needs to get his facts right himself, and by posting the details of people whom are over 36 who have remained on the site I think he will find that Faceparty will soon take a very active interest in the people he’s mentioned. I’m sure they’ll be very interested to know that they forgot to discriminate against additional people in the bid to save a few pennies.
It’s a pity that somebody who has no experience of Faceparty’s policieson this issue thinks that they can come and tell us what actually happened… especially when this is a well documented news story across the internet.

I dont think so, but they did use it as a nice advantage to encourage/allow members to slag me off because they knew i wouldnt be able to get on the site to defend myself.
I did consider legal action, but then i realised i got no proof of any of there threats… as all of them were sent to me via my faceparty account before it got deleted.
I know someone whos reported them to internet watch foundation though, due to the fact faceparty allow members under 18 to upload adult photos which is illegal i beleive?
And there inviting under 18’s to there faceparty event even though it involves free alcohol for ALL people at the event.
