Life Update: Thursday 22 March 2012

So, it’s been AGES since I did a personal update to my blog, and I figured that I’d post a few quick paragraphs to let you all know how I’m doing 🙂

I am loving being back in Manchester, it is so great being back, and the space that this affords makes it all more than worth it, not to mention the vastly increased quality of life (and expendable income!). At the moment, I am feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the pace of life, though, I’m spending a lot of time at work, and then I am also trying to slot in time for gym and time for some pretty intensive accounting study, not to mention spending quality time with Max, and my family – and invariably, there is just not enough time to do it all, AND retain my sanity! It’s all proving a massive juggling act, and I am really hoping that it all starts to settle down soon.

It was Max’s birthday t’other day, and we had a nice day (even if he was working it, and I was off!). I bought him front stalls tickets for The Lion King tour on opening night in Manchester, and a Kindle – in the evening we went for a surprise ‘birthday walk’ which ended up at Velvet on Canal Street for a delicious birthday tea, before heading back and Max discovering all the LED balloons that I’d put around the apartment, and the little birthday cakes! All in all, I think I did quite well, and Max seemed to enjoy it all 😛

I’m going to be down in London in April, as it’s already time to ramp up activity for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, which once again, I will be Finance Manager at. It’s always a massively intensive, but ultimately really fun, couple of weeks, and really great to be involved with. It does mean that I’m pretty much blocked out for nearly a month of my life, from a work perspective, so I’m already dreading my return back to the office, ha! Last time I had to have a massive wall chart, and plan everything in advance down to the last detail, as it’s like dying for two weeks – you simply aren’t on the radar, and you need a life to come straight back to, preferably without bill payment defaults etc heh!! Unfortunately, Max will have to stay in Manchester, but we managed it last time, with 200 miles between us, and I’m sure we can manage it again, as we’re still 200 miles apart, just in a different direction, ha! In terms of April, I’ll be in Wimbledon village from Tuesday 10th April through Thursday 12th April – it will be really odd being back there, as it’s right bang in the middle of both Vauxhall, and Surbiton, where I’ve been based for the last 4 years or so.

So yeah, busy but ultimately very happy – that’s how I’d sum up life at the moment. Moving back, and away from London, was definitely the best decision I’ve made in a long long time, and one that I know I’m not going to regret any time in the future. If you know me personally, come up for a weekend visit soon eh?! heh.

Hope everyone’s well, and thanks a mil for reading! 🙂
