With the help of the QI Elves, I stumbled across the below clip of the Perpetuum Jazzile jazz choir and their simulation of a storm! Very clever; I like this a lot!!!
In addition to this, they also perform a sterling rendition of Toto’s Africa.
I must say, I think I’ve found a new obsession!
They also do a Bee Gee’s Medley:
As they’re a Sloveian choir, there’s a fantastic mix of songs and sounds and so I’d recommend you have a sift through YouTube and have a listen to plenty of clips if you fancy seeing some more of their work and hearing some more of their gorgeous sound!
I really rate the below (which is also their new single):
In addition to having the usual presence on Facebook and MySpace; Perpetuum Jazzile are also on twitter – hurrah!
Hi! I’m a member of Perpetuum Jazzile and I’m glad you like our music. You are wrong about one thing though, we do have quite a lot of Western European /US songs as you call it (I guess by that you mean songs in English) we just haven’t posted it on YouTube. Our DVD is coming out in October so we have to keep a couple of secrets! Besides we did a Latin America tour last year so the emphasis was on their music.
Currently we are preparing a lot of new music, mostly old American hits. I can not tell you more, you’ll just have to visit our concert Vokal Xtravaganzza on 1st, 2nd or 3rd November in Ljubljana (Easyjet flies daily from London to Ljubljana)!
I’m also glad you discovered our new summer hit “Prisluhni školjki” (“Listen to seashell”) which is a rendition of slovenian song everybody from 5 to 99 knows. Official video will be out soon.

Hey!
Thanks for taking the time to visit and to comment!
Apologies for my clumsy wording of “Western European /US songs”, I was struggling to find the correct words! Songs in English was what I was aiming for, and I’ve updated my blog post to reflect that! I was just after conveying to anyone who was reading from the UK that Perpetuum Jazzile also had a lot of songs that were not in English and that they were definitely well worth sitting and listening to, even if some of us cannot understand them 😉
Very pleased to hear that “Prisluhni školjki” is to be your summer hit, I really liked it! Although I really liked “Africa” and the thunderstorm, “Prisluhni školjki” is definitely my favourite that I have heard so far!
I was already considering getting the DVD when it comes out in October, so don’t be surprised if you have to ship one to London, UK! 🙂
All the best for the future and I hope that your fanbase continues to grow and grow!

Just wonder if the choir is planning any world tour. We would love to be in the audience.
