“Smell My B.O.”

Ello 🙂

Just back from a rather enjoyable afternoon/evening spent with Joe and so figured I’d update my blog with the details.

I met Joe shortly after 16:00 at Embankment tube station, and was only a few minutes late, woo! Go me!. Was a lil awkward getting down there as the Bank branch of the Northern Line is off this weekend, so the Charing Cross line and tubes were twice as busy as normal and packed with tourists.

We had a fab wander down South Bank from Waterloo Bridge up as far as The Clink Prison Museum and then we deacided to head back up in search of food, fending off all of the dazed looking tourists along the way. We were both a lil hungry so Joe suggested we go to Ed’s Easy Diner for American diner style service and burgers (well, we were both hungover hehe!) The one at the bottom of Old Compton was unfortunately packed full, as was the larger one by the Trocadero, though our persistence and waiting paid off as we got seats at the diner bar quite quickly once we went inside.  I had a Big Bubba burger (fresh burger with all the usual salad trimmings, bacon and American cheese), a portion of chips and some diet coke – all very yummy but I could feel my arteries clogging up and groaning as I was eating it all! The diner then started playing songs from Grease, The Musical, which I thought gave it the ‘authentic’ edge heh! First theme restaurant for me in a while, and I really enjoyed it!

We then decided to be really geeky and head down to Heathrow Airport to watch the planes taking off and landing and generally being all pretty and lit up. Got on the Piccadilly line from Leicester Square and after about 40 minutes (and one very packed tube  – and my Oyster only charging me £1 for travelling an extra 3 zones- which I don’t understand!) we got there and hunted about for a big window from which we could be geeky. Despite us traipsing around terminals 2,3 and 4 we could not find such a window anywhere!! In the end we gave up having walked round Heathrow Airport unsuccessfully for about two hours hehe!

I did, however, get chance to take these fab pictures of some of the nice lighting designs that T3 is currently sporting…

Getting back via tube was going to take us around 80 minutes as we were literally travelling the full distance of the Piccadilly line between us; and given the drunken girls we were sat next to who were throwing about phrases like ‘frothing at the mouth’ and ‘gangbang’ it all felt like it was a lil too much hehe. Therefore we changed at Green Park and caught the Victoria line to Finsbury Park in the hope of speeding things up a little.  On the Victoria Line we ended up near two drunken girls who were spilling Pepsi all over each other and trying to pour vodka into a small cap despite the jolts of the tube. They were clearly smashed despite this only being around 22:00. Just before we left the train, I heard one of them ask the other “Do I annoy you? Do I though? I am so not drunk. Eww..smell my BO”   *giggles*  I have no idea if the other girl did just that or not as I nearly collapsed on the floor in a fit of laughter! How common/chavy/random hehe!

So aye, a good night has been had and so the thing to look forward to tomorrow is Westlife at the O2. “Torn”by Natalie Imbruglia has been on my media player and on repeat for most of this evening as it’s kinda reflecting how I feel at the moment underneath all of the frivolity and giggles. On a plus note, I am much less depressed than I was the other day and having things to look forward to and good people to spend time with is clearly what I need to start prioritising in life to a degree. Always open for offers…. 🙂

Thanks for reading, and I hope that everyone else is having a fab weekend xx
