WOW! I absolutely LOVE Rozalla Miller’s new album, ‘Brand New Version‘!

For those people who, like me, grew up in the North and love dance music (I am sitting here wearing glo-sticks and baggy pants, well, in spirit anyway!), you will easily remember Rozalla’s cries of ‘Everybody’s Freeeeeeeeeee’ that to this day still gets everyone up and dancing!

On this new jazzy sounding album, there is a new version of this song, with swing undertones that I absolutely adore!

Of course, there are many more tracks on this album, and ‘Everybody’s Free’ is only a bonus track. Each of the other ten tracks is a gorgeous blend of soulful swingy jazz – it is almost too easy to fall into the song and let the warmth of the sound envelop you.

The album was released back in February ’09 and I am slightly mortified that I’m only now discovering it!

After only a few listens, I think this could be one of my favourite albums of 2009.
