– this is such a FAB film!
I’ve been a fan of it for years and, in light of today’s news on the sad passing of Patrick Swayze, I have suddenly re-remembered it and intend to dig out my old VHS copy to watch as soon as I can.
Although, for me, Swayze’s defining role will always be Sam in “Ghost” (I really disliked Dirty Dancing, though do like his song ‘She’s Like The Wind’), I would rate this as my second favourite piece of his work (and lets face it, compared to Ghost, second is not a ‘losing’ place!).

For anyone who has not yet seen it, I’d recommend – dare I say it, but I actually prefer this film to Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert!

I feel Priscilla is far superior, being much more original, produced on a tiny budget and yet getting international recognition and an oscar. This feels like a cheap american knock off. The characters aren’t very believable and the story doesn’t really go anywhere. I still love it though 🙂

In this film, I think I like the fact that you have people like Swayze and Snipes taking a step out of bounds and giving somethnig completely different a whirl. Leguizumo doesn’t count, as he’s always doing qwirky stuff heh!
I do conceed though that this is blatantly an American knock-off, and so Priscilla deserves the credit for much of it! 🙂

Classic film, and while a bit of a knockoff of Priscilla I think it stands on it’s own as a good film.
My favourite bit has to be the “Day with the Girls” or when Noxema grabbed the guys balls and leads him around the town to apologize!
